ReLASC organised the seminar “Contaminated Sites and Mining”
The Latin American Network on Prevention and Management of Contaminated Sites, organised in November 2015 the “Contaminated Sites & Mining” Seminar in Lima, Peru
The event, held on 23rd and 24rd November, was attended by specialists from different countries, who form part of the network and shared their experiences on cases of contaminated sites in the mining industry and their resolution using different approaches.
The exchange of know-how, application tools used in different countries and experiences between the representatives of the administration and business groups of Mexico, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay and Argentina was highly enriching, as stated by Jenny Nilsson, Head of the Department of Contaminated Soil of the Peru affiliate, who took part in the seminar.
One of the aspects that was of greater interest was legislation and its current holes. The authorities of the administration of each country represented expressed their interest in dealing with this great challenge that involves achieving a regulatory framework developed to approach this environmental problem.
The TEMA Litoclean Group seeks to achieve active participation in ReLASC as a sign of surety as an expert company in each member country in which it executes its activities.
